Over the period of three days, there were 124 volunteers who sorted and counted, packed and gave out 560 backpacks. Of the 560 packed bags, 461 were handed out on Wednesday; 51 children picked up a bag on Thursday at the Salvation Army. The remaining 48 were taken to MCCSC and RBB social workers for distribution to children who show up the first few days of school with no backpack.
