Christmas Ornaments

Dec 12, 2015

It is that time of year where we reminisce about Christmas when we were younger - or maybe just our favorite Christmases at any age. We all have our favorite meal, stocking stuffer, toy, time with family...maybe a trip or Christmas adventure

You may think that Christmas Traditions should start or be at Christmas. But, mine started over 15 years ago at Thanksgiving. It started after dinner while we were eating pumpkin or pecan pie, with coffee or hot chocolate. My mom had a pile of things wrapped in tissue paper, each family member (or soon to be part family member), would open them one by one. When we opened them they were Christmas Ornaments!

Over the years I have received angels, snowmen, and little forest animals. Now my daughters, ages eight and fifteen, and my husband all collect a variety of ornaments and love them. Our tree is full of these beautiful ornaments; full of the ornaments that were given to us out of love.

So you may think that Christmas traditions have to start at Christmas but for us they do not, it is the time that leads up to it that makes it so special.

Merry Christmas
