Margaret Carty wrote, “The nice thing about teamwork is that you always have others on your side.” Hi, I’m Tom Ellsworth from Sherwood Oaks Christian Church with a minute message.

There a many great teamwork examples but one that often gets overlooked is the teamwork between bees and flowers. To make a pound of clover honey, bees must take the nectar from 62,000 clover blossoms which requires a bee to travel from hive to blossom and back again nearly 3 million times. One bee can’t do it, so 60-70,000 bees work together to make it happen. That’s not all; the flower teams up with the bee so each gets what it needs – nectar and pollination. The eye of the bee sees in ultraviolet, so with the aid of ultraviolet photography what we see as a simple yellow dandelion, the bee sees as a white flower with a red bullseye guiding it to the very center.

Teamwork! If God created the tiny honeybee and the humblest of blossoms with such teamwork skills, don’t you think he expects us to work together for his purposes? Actually, that’s God’s design for his church. And when we work together for good, it’s nice to remember that we’ll always have others on our side.
