Minute Message July 5

Art Buchwald wrote, “The best things in life aren’t things.”  What a commentary on how we most often evaluate life’s best.  Hi, I’m Tom Ellsworth from Sherwood Oaks Christian Church with a minute message.

Stop and consider; what would have if you didn’t own a thing?  I know it’s hard to imagine, but try.  Just look around you at the beauty of nature; the flowers of the season are in full bloom.  In just three months the verdant greens of summer will give way to autumn’s palate of rich golden, orange and crimson hues.   No artist can duplicate the grandeur of that which belongs to each of us free of charge every year.  Shake hands with friend and feel the warmth of that connection or the joy in the shared smiles.  No amount of money could buy something so valuable.  Every time I take a walk with my grandchildren, I am filled with joy.  They are so alive with the wonder of life all around them and I remember that each day of life is precious.   Hug your family and hold them close – family is a gift more precious than gold.   Art Buchwald was right, “The best things aren’t things.”  Life’s best treasures are gifts from God!
