Minutes Message March 3

Mar 3, 2016Tom Ellsworth

During the first few days of March, we wonder: will it be “in like a lion and out like a lamb” or just the opposite? Hi, I’m Tom Ellsworth from Sherwood Oaks Christian Church with a minute message.

March is a swing month; sometimes we revel in warm sunshine and sometimes we hunker down for a late season snowstorm. This lion and lamb comparison used by our ancestors focuses on the equilibrium of nature. Life, like the weather, is intended to be balanced. There are blustery, stormy days but there are also calm, sunny days. We need to remember that lesson of nature or our lives can easily become overbooked – it’s in like a lion with no lamb in sight! With work, family and social calendars filled to the max, we push the pressure valve needle far past the red line. Remember, you cannot do everything, so choose wisely what is most valuable for your family, your friends, your career and most of all your relationship with the Lord.

Jesus was busy, but never over-scheduled, carefully balancing the physical, emotional and spiritual aspects of his life. We, too, need that same balance, so on the blustery days be sure you find some period of calm – in like a lion, out like a lamb.
