Human biology creates a brain, but God creates the mind and soul. Hi, I’m Tom Ellsworth from the Sherwood Oaks Christian Church with a minute message.
The brain is an incredible organ. Believe it or not, it is comprised of about 75% water! Your brain consists of about 100 billion neurons with anywhere from 1,000 to 10,000 synapses for each. One hundred thousand miles of blood vessels in the brain supply it with 20% of the total oxygen in your body. And during your waking hours, your brain generates between 10 and 23 watts of power–or enough energy to power a light bulb.
With such power at our disposal, don’t you think we ought to use it wisely? While the brain is a physical organ, it is home to the mind – the real you, the soul of who you are. Feed your mind well, exercise it regularly, fill it with what is positive, think good thoughts. Remember this wisdom from the New Testament: “Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.”
