the middle devotional

Apr 11, 2016

Now through the end of May, you can read a daily devotion that coincides with what our 6-8 grade students are learning in class at Fuse on Sunday mornings.

"She gets up while it is dark; she provides food for her family and portions for her servant girls. She considers a field and buys it; out of her earnings she plants a vineyard. She sets about her work vigorously; her arms are strong for her tasks. She sees that her trading is profitable, and her lamp does not go out at night." - Proverbs 31:15-18

It took me a long time to realize that the beauty inside us is WAY more important than our outward beauty.  There will always be someone more beautiful, taller, thinner, more talented, etc. but there will never be another person just like YOU ... created beautifully and uniquely in the image of God.  In Psalm 139:14 David says "I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well."

My prayer is that you don't focus on what you or others look like ... but on who you can become in Christ Jesus.  He has great and wonderful plans for each of you!!

As you sit down to write the qualities you like about yourself or that you admire in others remember that our most unique and wonderful qualities are not found only in outer beauty, but are found in our inner beauty that God so specially created.
