How often do we fully trust in God? I know that I wrestle with the Holy Spirit working within me… a lot! I have plenty of excuses ready to pour out in an attempt to make myself feel better for not listening to God. Do I ever feel like my excuses are worthy of not taking God’s request into action? Never! I start to feel the guilt and wish that I could go back in time to talk to that person or help that other person. For me, the anxiety is in the anticipation. It builds as the moment gets closer and will often finally break me. What can we do?
The anxiety that threatens our actions for God needs a remedy. That remedy should come from the word of God! Philippians 4:6-7 is a great example. “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
When you find an opportunity this week to love someone or share your faith, and you find yourself hesitating, pray to God for encouragement and peace so you can overcome any obstacles standing in your way to share Jesus with the world!
