Season of Care

Jesus said: "Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭6‬:‭19‬-‭21‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Time, Talent, Treasure...

We all have those three things. This holiday season, we would like to encourage you to spend some of your time, talent and treasure caring for others. Below, you'll see some local and global opportunities to make a difference through care. Identify one or two that you, your family or connect group can get passionate about and invest in. Then invest.

Sherwood Oaks hopes to fill every Red Kettle position for the Salvation Army in Monroe County on Saturday, December 20! When you volunteer to stand at our kettles, you’re not just ringing a bell... you’re changing lives and strengthening our community.

Volunteers are the difference between an empty kettle and one that raises about $30 per hour – enough to provide a family with two bags of groceries or shelter an individual for a night. We have approximately 100 slots open for individuals, families, groups or connect groups!

Who are Sherwood Oaks' local and global partners? If I wanted to support one of our partners, how would I go about doing that?

Those are two great questions that our yearly Global Partner Guide answers. This document gives a brief overview of our local and global partners and how you can contact them. Additionally, did you know you can make a year-end gift that could help propel their ministries into the next year? The Global Market Guide shares all that information. 2025 Global Partner Guide

Gratitude Offering

Join us this year in giving to our Gratitude Offering! Each year, we choose some special projects or opportunities through our ministry partners to express our gratitude with above and beyond giving! This year, 50% of the Gratitude Offering will go to Hoosier Hills Food Bank and Wheeler Mission, as they stand in the SNAP benefits gap and provide necessary food to our communities around the holidays. The other 50% of the offering will be split between Global Partners IDES, for their Caribbean hurricane relief, Haitian Christian Outreach, in providing much needed medications for their regional hospital, and Asian Christian Mission in Myanmar, for transportation of emergency food supplies to IDP camps. You can give to Gratitude Offering anytime between now and November 30 by clicking the link below.
