Following services on last Sunday, the Iglesia Hispana team put together an amazing spread from a variety of cultures and blessed many of us with a delicious and truly special lunch. Moments like those are such a beautiful picture of what is to come and how God designed His church to be. When we find ourselves brought together with people from different cultures, ethnicities, backgrounds and life experiences, but united under the banner of Christ – we experience God’s love and vision in such a beautiful and tangible way.
What we gain from studying the first church in Acts is a vision for how the body of Christ is meant to live and function in relation to one another. We are all called to be members of one body, to support one another and build one another up, regardless of our similarities or differences. Iglesia Hispana lives this mission out day after day as they reach out to so many people in our community and offer them love, support and a place to feel welcomed and accepted. It doesn’t matter what country someone is from, what religious background or experiences they are bringing with them, how or why they arrived here.
The love of Christ overcomes all obstacles and knows no bounds. Let’s all ask God to show us how we too can reach out to those around us who need to know and experience the matchless love of Christ in the way that the members of Iglesia Hispana do for the Latina community of Bloomington.
