Is peace really possible at this time of the year?

Dec 22, 2022

Is peace really possible this time of year? Or will we just continue living a fast paced life in order to cover up our anxiety?

Hi! I’m Quentin Bemis from Sherwood Oaks Christian Church with a minute message.

I always feel disjoined in December. It starts with Thanksgiving for me and ends at New Years. There’s no rhythm to life for me. And I always find that my calendar gets more full than I can handle. Can you relate?

I am working to take time to reflect on the meaning of peace this year. On reminding myself of the truth of Paul’s words in Romans: “WE have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. And that we can rejoice in our sufferings because of the hope of Jesus.” And that hope brings us true peace.

So if you’re like me and find yourself needing refreshment this Christmas season, take a moment today and read Romans chapter 5.

And then I invite you to join us at Sherwood Oaks for Christmas Eve services as we rest in the peace of Christ. You can find all the info you need at www.socc.org/christmas.
