Tis the season for Christmas songs, but long before Jingle Bells and Silent Night, Mary sang the first song celebrating Jesus.
Hi, I’m Shawn from Sherwood Oaks Christian Church with today’s Minute Message.
When Mary learns she’ll be the mother of the Messiah, she celebrates with a song. She sings of God coming to the defense of those who feel forgotten, cast aside, and beaten up by the world. For Mary, the arrival of Jesus is proof of God’s love and faithfulness, even in our darkest of times.
While Christmas is a time to be merry and bright, you may feel anything but that. Maybe you feel forgotten, cast aside, and beaten up by the world. There’s extra pressure at home or work or with your family. But Christmas is a reminder that we don’t walk through the darkness alone.
In Jesus, God took on flesh. He entered into our pain and suffering, and he continues to rescue the broken hearted.
Whatever you’re going through today, know that God is with you, and He loves you. He has not forgotten you and He hears you when you cry out to Him.
