Where would you be today if you didn't have help from friends, coworkers and family? If you were completely alone in life, how would your circumstances change?
Hi, I'm Noah Saylor from Sherwood Oaks Christian Church. With today's minute message.
We're going through a series at church right now called At the Movies, and I thought I'd share a theme from one of my favorite films. In Peter Jackson's The Lord of the Rings. The main character, Frodo, finds himself on a harrowing quest to destroy the great evil looming over the world. The burden to save the land from eternal darkness fell completely to him alone. But the whole time, Frodo wasn't. His loyal friend and companion Sam was there not to help carry the burden of Frodo, but to carry Frodo.
Ecclesiastes 4:12 says a person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back to back and conquer. Who's the Sam to your Frodo? How are you being a Sam to a Frodo in your life? Take a moment to thank God and thank those people who have helped you get to where you are today.
