One of the most influential quotes from Shawn’s message Sunday for me was “The presence of God changes our perspective.” Such a simple and yet, profound statement. Something I hadn’t really thought about much. But how true it is. Maybe it’s different for me because I have been a Christian for as long as I have a memory. And that’s a beautiful blessing! But I also think that perhaps if I had come to Jesus later in adulthood, I would have noticed a huge transition in my life from not being aware of having God in it to His constant presence. From not turning to Him in times of need and in times of rejoicing, to always turning to Him in everything.
Having a relationship with God isn’t just a good thing; it’s everything. Having God in our lives should change the way we face challenges and obstacles. God is always present… during a miscarriage, the loss of a job, the death of a parent, AND in the birth of a baby, a new opportunity, a successful adoption, and the list goes on. He is always there and by having Him, we can face anything that comes our way. Because He lives, I can face tomorrow. And I can rejoice. I can rejoice in His powerful presence that never leaves me alone.
