Freedom Isn't Free...

Sparklers. Fireworks. Hotdogs. Red, white and blue. Picnics. Freedom.

The 4th of July is almost here! At some point over the next few days, most of us will reflect on what it's like to live in a country where freedom is part of the story. We do have the opportunity to live in a country with great freedoms. I am reminded on days like this that freedom isn't free. Countless lives have been given to provide what we often take for granted in the United States.

The same is true of my spiritual life sometimes as well. I go through the day, sometimes without thinking about the cost of being able to freely come into the presence of God. Jesus paid the price for my freedom. He paid that cost with his life. Paul writes: 'For he has rescued us from the kingdom of darkness and transferred us into the Kingdom of his dear Son, who purchased our freedom and forgave our sins.' Colossians 1:13-14 (https://my.bible.com/bible/116/COL.1.13-14)

If you aren't living in the freedom of Jesus' sacrifice, we'd love to help you enter that! Ask us how! If you are, take a moment this weekend and reflect on the freedom that you have as a son or daughter of the King!
